Objective
This program prepares students for the pipefitter trade and includes two specialties: plumbing and heating.
Program
- Position yourself with respect to the construction industry’s organizations
- Prevent health, safety and physical harm on construction sites
- To situate oneself with respect to the trade, the training process and communicate in the workplace
- Handle equipment, materials and products
- Assemble mechanical piping systems
- Install electrical components
- Interpret plans and specifications
- Install evacuation systems
- Install ventilation systems
- Work on electrical and electronic control devices
- Perform welding and brazing work
- Install hot and cold water distribution systems, sanitary equipment and accessories
- Maintain and repair piping, plumbing fixtures and fittings
- Present information related to energy and heating concepts
- Install, maintain and repair oil-fired appliances
- Install and repair direct and reverse heating systems
- Install and repair perimeter heating systems
- Install gas-fired systems (natural and propane)
- Install and repair radiant heating systems
- Install and repair low pressure steam systems
- Conduct job searches
